The big question has been, "What's her name?". Well after two and half days Baby Girl Hales is now Juliana Beverly. The nurses have asked repeatedly over the past two days if we had a name yet. Doctors have asked for a name. The phone has been ringing and the emails are coming in, so Saturday night was the deadline Daddy set for Mommy to decide.
I've been throwing out the idea of naming her Juliana but then how would we spell it. Would we use one "n" or two? Would we split the name into a first and middle name, Julie Anna? Great Grandpa Hales suggested naming her Juliannie. "Annie" is someone Great Granpa Hales and his oldest son are always talking about.
With the middle name I had also voiced my opinion. My first suggestion was Michelle. Sarah's sister-in-law in Montana is Michelle. We both liked it but we found out that the Juliana at church had that same middle name. We continued to request help from family. Some suggestions were Joy, Marie, Renee, and Beverly. Both Sarah's dad and I had suggested Beverly. The more we said it the more we liked it. But it remained a toss up between Michelle and Beverly. Then Sarah surprised me and said she was considering Marie. It was time for a deadline.
So here we are with a name. "Juliana" after Juliana at church and "Beverly" after Sarah's mother who went to be with the Lord in May of 2005. She would be so proud of Sarah and the woman she has become.
