SHE'S BEEN NAMED!

Sarah began having contractions Wednesday afternoon. By evening it was apparent, from the look on her face, that this was the real thing. Sarah drove herself to the hospital to be examined at about 11:30 PM. She called and promptly told me to phone the babysitter. "It is for real this time," she said. After about 3 hours of being in the hospital, Juliana Beverly Hales was delivered at 2:29, Thursday morning.

She weighed in at a large 6 pounds 6 ounces. I say large because both Nicholas and Elizabeth were smaller. Juliana is 19 1/2 inches long.

While she looks like Nicholas, Juliana is beautiful like her mother. She is only the second granddaughter on the Schritz side after eleven grandsons. Elizabeth was the first.

Family advice

• Spread out your pregnancies or you'll have 3 kids in diapers.
• Wait till your contractions are intense and two minutes apart before heading to the hospital. If you deliver your own child on the way, you can pay yourself the delivery charge.
